Boko Haram, Boko Haram terrorists

SUSPECTED Boko Haram insurgents are alleged to have attacked Government Girls Secondary School, Dapchi, in Burasari local government area of Yobe state.

The Commissioner of Police, Yobe State command, Abdulmaliki Sunmonu actually confirmed the attack, with newsmen saying security operatives have been mobilized to the location to fight back.

An anonymous teacher working in the school, who escaped the attack, told sources that the attackers stormed the school around 7:00 pm today through the eastern part of the town.

“They shot sporadically and forced the school food store opened. We staff and our students ran into the bush for safety”, he said.

Asked if there was any abduction of the schoolgirls he told sources that he was unable to confirm adding that it was too early for him to comment on it.

A resident, Alhaji Ibrahim, told newsmen that the attackers stormed the village in six Hilux vans through the eastern part of the town while shooting sporadically into the air.
