In cities like Lagos and Ibadan, several amusement parks attract families during holidays, festive periods , and even on normal days.

Many of them provide rides, playground facilities and leisure spaces where children can spend hours playing.

In this article, Tribune Online curates  some of the best parks families should consider visiting during Eid.

  1. Apapa amusement park

Apapa Amusement Park is an amusement park located  in Lagos. For many families in the city, it has been a familiar place for children’s outings over the years.

The park includes traditional amusement rides such as ferris wheels, carousels, train rides and other playground attractions. Facilities like these provide spaces where children can enjoy outdoor recreation and physical activity. Because of its location and facilities, the park attracts families during festive seasons when parents look for simple outdoor entertainment for their children.

2. Giwa gardens

Giwa Gardens is a water-themed recreation park located in the Lekki area of Lagos. It’s the largest water park in West Africa by water volume , having a ratio of 70% water and 30% land mass. It has become one of the best places both local and international tourists visit.

Water parks have become increasingly popular for family recreation because they combine relaxation with adventure. Visitors can move between the pools, slides and leisure areas within the facility.

3. Agodi gardens

Agodi Gardens  remains one of the best known recreational parks in Ibadan. The park, which sits on a large green surrounding, combines leisure, nature and family recreation.

Over the years, it has developed into a multi-purpose recreational centre with facilities such as a water park, picnic areas, playgrounds and a small zoo. All these  make it a common destination for families and tourists visiting Ibadan. The open environment also makes it suitable for families who prefer a relaxed outdoor setting rather than mechanical amusement rides.

4. Trans amusement park

Trans amusement park, located  in the Bodija area of Ibadan, is one of the city’s oldest entertainment parks. The park contains roller coasters, electric bumper cars, panoramic wheels, ferris wheels, space station, dragon boats, children’s play areas and open spaces designed for leisure activities , among others.

For many years, it has served as a recreational spot for residents of Ibadan, especially during weekends and festive holidays. It provides safe spaces where children can engage in outdoor play and social interaction.

5. University of Ibadan Zoological Garden

The University of Ibadan Zoological Garden is another popular family recreation destination in Ibadan. Located within the campus of the University of Ibadan, the zoo combines wildlife viewing with outdoor recreation.

The facility houses a variety of animals including lions, monkeys, crocodiles and birds, while the surrounding environment provides open spaces where families can relax during outings. Zoos like this often serve both educational and recreational purposes, allowing children to learn about wildlife while enjoying a day outdoors during festive periods.

6. Fun factory

Fun Factory is located in Lekki, and it is one of the most popular children’ s recreation centres in Lagos. The park combines indoor and outdoor play facilities designed mainly for young children.

It features  bouncing castles, playground equipment, arcade games and other attractions that keep children engaged. The facility is also commonly used for children’s parties and family outings.
