For 11 years old Abdulrauf, a primary school pupil in Giade, Wednesday, 30th of March, 2022 will remain a historical date in his life and that of his parents, because it was the date he transformed to become one of the children of Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir and his wife.
The Governor who was Impressed by the intelligence, confidence, composure and brilliance of the 11 years old Abdulrauf, a primary school pupil in Giade, did not hesitate to adopt him as his son.
The Governor made the declaration in Giade shortly after Abdulrauf had made a brilliant presentation when he perfectly and accurately mimick the actions of the Governor to the admiration of all the dignitaries at the occasion.
The 11 years old had dressed the way the Governor dresses, spoke the way the Governor speaks, walked in the same manner and spoke fluent English without looking at any paper.
An elated Bala Mohammed, drew the boy closed to him, shook his hand and gave him a tap on the shoulder expressing his delight at what the boy had performed.
The Governor said that, “You can see what education can do, what an 11 years old boy can do, he can copy me correctly, he can talk very well, at the same time he knows why there should be good governance”.
Bala Mohammed added that, “he has spoken on all the strata and the multidimensional approaches to governance in terms of the provision of services and infrastructure” .
“He is not even part of our community engagement and the need to fight poverty and insecurity, this young man has made me happy because here we are as a state which is being attached as a state that has the most prevalence of out-of-school children”, he stressed.
He added that, “And here is a child in a government school, with government teachers, speaking in the manner he has done. it has shown that the standard of education in Bauchi state is improving”.
The Governor who could not hide his happiness declared that, “I want to announce on behalf of my Wife, that this Abdulrauf has from today become my son, my personal child, because I am going to shoulder his responsibilities for education from the primary school that he is now to the university”.
He further said that, “And, it will be my pleasure to meet with his father and mother, because they are the kind of parents I want to see, they are the kind of people I want to have and Bauchi people to have, those that are bigger than government and that can teach their children of their purpose or their words and lessons to be able to actualize their aspirations, to discover that potentials, it is part of their business. I don’t have to say anything after what this young man has said, he has said everything”.
Bala Mohammed then reiterated that his administration will continue to place premium priority on education until such a time that Bauchi State will no longer be categorized as an educationally backward state or one of the stares with high percentage of out-of-school children in the country.
