A resident of the area who pleaded for anonymity remarked that the hoodlums stormed the military camp at midnight when the soldiers were fast asleep.
‘Kampani Doka was just a few kilometres away from Birnin Gwari town from funtua road, this is where the soldiers established their camps in order to checkmate the activities of the bandits in the area.
It will be recalled, that the Birnin Gwari in recent times has been the hub of armed bandits and cattle rustling.
He said, ‘yesterday when the soldiers were sleeping, the bandits stormed the camp and opened fire on them killing 11 soldiers in the process.
As at the time of filing this report, several of the wounded soldiers were currently receiving treatment in a hospital before they will be conveyed to Kaduna.

Early reports, has also indicated that the attackers had earlier attacked Maganda District around four o’clock on a revenged mission over the killing of Buhari Tsoho a. K. a Buharin Daji.
Findings gathered that as at the time of filling this report Nine people were critically injured at Maganda, mostly Vigilante group.
After Maganda, the Armed bandits moved toward Kampanin Doka at the junction road leading to Gwaska and Dansadau but the gallant soldiers and brave youths of Doka successfully repelled the attack around 11.00pm (Tuesday night).
‘Only for them to come back and attack the soldiers when they have resigned to their military camp, source affirmed.
When contacted, the spokesman for the 1Div Mechanised, Colonel Mohammed Dole said the army will issue a press statement on the development.
