Dr Joe Okei Odumakin, the widow of late National Publicity Secretary of pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin, has announced the establishment of Oluyinka Odumakin Foundation (OOF), after her deceased husband, even as she, as the president of the Foundation, named Dr Tokunbo Awolowo – Dosunmu, as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the body.
Awolowo Dosumu, who is chairman, African Newspapers of Nigeria (ANN) Plc, will sit atop the BoT consisted of other eminent personalities.
Dr Okei Odumakin made this known on Thursday in a statement titled: “Oluyinka Odumakin Foundation (OOF) comes alive,” copy of which was made available to newsmen in Lagos, following the registration of the Foundation by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), adding that “the purpose of the Foundation is to honour Yinka’s memory by keeping his ideas alive.”
According to the activist, who is also president, Women Arise (WA), “the Foundation will undertake projects relating to the departed Afenifere spokesman and ward against attempts which might have the dubious motives of tarnishing his memory.”
She, however, hinted that “the public should look forward to more information about the Foundation, which is projected to function effectively at the crossroads where Nigeria.”
