THE presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, on Thursday, visited the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Faruk Umar Faruk, in his palace to receive his blessings during his campaign tour of the state.
Atiku had, shortly after arriving in the state, visited the traditional ruler to homage and asked for his blessings.
The Emir receiving Atiku thanked him for his visit, while he also blesses his presidential aspirations, and prayed for the coming elections in the country to be peaceful.
Atiku, thanking the monarch for his warm reception, cited his relationship with the Yar’Adua family to draw his closeness to Katsina, and spoke of his plans to use education to curtail the influx of Almajiri in the state and the Emirate.
The PDP presidential hopeful was accompanied by the PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus, the Director General of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council, Dr Bukola Saraki, among others.
Atiku, thereafter left the palace to attend a rally at the Karkanda Stadium where he addressed hundreds of PDP supporters in the state.
