Arsenal sack coach Unai Emery, replace him with Freddie Ljungberg 

Arsenal football club has finally dealt the blow in firing its manager, Unai Emery, after 18 months in charge.

The Spaniard who managed Sevilla FC and won three Europa League titles and Paris Saint Germain FC  where he won the French league title before joining  Arsenal as the head coach had a dismal season so far and has not had a fantastic time since becoming the head coach at the North London Club.

Emery who succeeded Arsene Wenger has been replaced on a temporary basis by his assistant and former Arsenal midfielder Freddie Ljungberg.

A club statement declared: “We announce today that the decision has been taken to part company with our head coach Unai Emery and his coaching team.”

Speaking on behalf of the Arsenal board, Josh Kroenke said: “Our most sincere thanks go to Unai and his colleagues who were unrelenting in their efforts to get the club back to competing at the level we all expect and demand. We wish Unai and his team nothing but future success.

Arsenal currently sitting 8th on the English Premier League table have not won in seven games and lost 2-1 at home to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League on Thursday.

They are without a Premier League victory since 6 October and eight points off the top four.
