FOUR hundred and fifty out of the 589 students admitted to study various degree courses at the Nigerian Army University Biu (NAUB) have been matriculated for the 2021/2022 academic session held on Saturday last week.
While declaring the third matriculation ceremony of NAUB open, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kyari Mohammed, disclosed that the university was conceived and established based on the good ethos and values of the Nigerian Army, which are discipline, orderliness and respect for constituted authority as well as the universal values of a university; which is the freedom to hold and profess divergent opinions.
The Vice-Chancellor noted that a university that effectively operates these philosophies would definitely contribute to the advancement of the country.
Charging the matriculates, Professor Mohammed affirmed that NAUB had zero tolerance for unethical behaviour, adding that the rod would not be spared from anyone who tests the will of the university.
He added also that the university would not tolerate examination malpractice, cultism or cultic practices, sexual harassment and violence of any sort.
He stated that 589 students were offered admission but 450 students had successfully completed the registration process and were administered the matriculation oath.
The registrar, Brig-Gen S.S Ibrahim who administered the oath on the students, congratulated them, saying, ‘you have now become bonafide students of the Nigerian Army University.’
