Anambra APC stakeholders have claimed that chieftains of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the State are the greatest beneficiaries of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, despite long-standing members of the ruling party allegedly being sidelined in key federal appointments.

They stormed Abuja on Tuesday to protest their alleged marginalisation by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration.

Addressing journalists in Abuja, Dr Francis Chidozie Okoye, Convener of the APC Anambra Liberation Movement specifically cited Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu and Mr. Mark Okoye as chieftains of the APGA who have since emerged as Minister of State Foreign Affairs, and Managing Director, South East Development Commission, respectively in the present administration.

He said: “We convene this press conference to formally present our position regarding the continuous exclusion of loyal party members in Anambra State from federal appointments.

“Today, we respectfully draw the attention of the National Chairman of our great party, the All Progressives Congress, the National Working Committee, and indeed the Presidency, to the growing neglect, marginalization, and frustration endured by steadfast party faithful in Anambra state.

“For years, appointment slots meant for Anambra APC have been consistently diverted to non-party members, inconsistent party actors, and new entrants while genuine grassroots builders of the party are left abandoned.

” The ministerial slot meant for Anambra APC was ceded to APGA. The position of the Managing Director of the newly created South East Development Commission ( SEDC) was also given to an APGA member. Many other appointments, including the recently nominated Ambassadors and High Commissioners by Mr. President, were given to individuals unknown to APC Anambra state.

“This has created deep discontent among true members who have worked tirelessly to promote, defend, and fund the party. “This continued neglect has weakened morale and discouraged committed members.”

Flanked by Comrade Innocent Nduanya, Co- Co-Convener of the group, Dr Okoye urged the national leadership of the APC to address the concerns of aggrieved APC chieftains ahead next general election.
