A Bauchi based political pressure group known as ‘Bauchi South Coalition’ has appealed to delegates of the All Progressive Congress (APC), to vote for the incumbent Governor of the State, Mohammad Abdullahi Abubakar, in the forthcoming primaries ahead of all other aspirants to enable him to continue and complete all the developmental projects his administration is currently undertaking across the State.
The Coalition also appealed to the delegates to vote for Senator-elect for Bauchi South Senatorial district, Lawal Yahya Gumau, as the candidate of the party to enable him to give the area quality representation at the Senate.
Addressing Journalists Thursday, Chairman of the Coalition, Alhaji Shuaibu Al-Mustapha said that the Mohammed Abubakar should be re-elected to for a second term to enable him to complete the many ongoing projects in the State.
According to him, the Governor had within the first tenure embarked on dualization of several roads in the state capital and construction of new others including a 105 kilometres road in Misau local government fearing that if he does not return, they projects might be abandoned.
He opined that Senator-elect, Lawal Yahya Gumau should also be retained as the senatorial candidate of the party for 2019Â because he suffered to win the recent senatorial bye-election’ arguing that he needs ample time in the Senate to be able to give good representation to his constituents.
In his contribution, a youth leader in the State, Kabiru Garba Ladan alleged that the other governorship aspirants contesting against Mohammed Abubakar are only out to destabilize the party ‘because they have written series of petitions to the National Headquarters of the party.
