Angry residents blocked Kaduna /Abuja highway over persistent attacks by the bandits in their communities.
It was gathered that the killing of a 13-year-old girl by bandits on Friday night infuriated the villagers to block the road.
Findings gathered that the protesters from Anguwar Magaji comprising mostly of youths and women came out as early as 7.30am to express their dismay over the spate of kidnapping in their community.
It was gathered also that the bandits stormed the house of their Village Head and abducted his family as well as other persons in the community.
A resident, Bala Johanna said because of the fear of attacks residents in the area cannot go their farms, saying ‘the most annoying is they followed us to our houses and collect ransom from us.

“They killed a 13-year-old girl, a security man in the village as well as abducted other residents including the family of the village head,” he said.
“Some of the women are half-naked. The soldiers were just begging them to leave the road but the men cheered them on from the roadside.”
The Police image maker, ASP Mohammed Jalige said the situation has been under control.
He said the state commissioner of police, Umar Muri, has directed the Area Commander to visit the scene of the protest and ensure orderliness.
