Primate of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), The Most Rev’d Henry C. Ndukuba, will on Sunday, November 9, 2025, lead other archbishops and bishops in the consecration of fifteen newly elected bishops at the Cathedral Church of the Advent, Life Camp, Abuja.

The consecration service, according to the Church’s Communication Officer, Mr. Korede Akintunde, will formally confirm the new episcopal leaders who were elected during the Episcopal Synod held on September 18, 2025, at the Cathedral Church of Emmanuel, Okesha, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

During the Synod, the House of Bishops elected new bishops to fill one vacant See, the Diocese of Irele/Ese-Odo, and fourteen others for the newly created dioceses.

The elected bishops include Venerable Samuel Ogunmiluyi (Diocese of Irele/Ese-Odo), Venerable Francis Bankole (Ekiti South), Venerable Boma Briggs (Kalabari), Venerable Dr. Adewole Ajayi (Lagos South West), Venerable Richard N. Okpara (Omoku), and Venerable Dr. Benjamin Idume (Ozoro).

Others are Venerable Bode Otenaike (Missionary Diocese of Idanre), Venerable David Michson (Missionary Diocese of Ikom), Venerable Dr. Paul Dajur (Missionary Diocese of Keffi-Karshi), Venerable Dr. Luka B. Allu (Missionary Diocese of Nasarawa), Venerable Ifeanyi Akunna (Missionary Diocese of Ogoja), Venerable Dr. Ebenezer Familoni (Missionary Diocese of Oyo South), Venerable Solomon Adewumi (Missionary Diocese of Oyun), Rev’d Canon Rika G. Ibrahim (Missionary Diocese of Takum) and Venerable Dr. Ayuba Kanta (Missionary Diocese of Zuru).

Following the consecration, Primate Ndukuba will inaugurate fourteen of the fifteen newly created dioceses between November 15 and December 20, 2025.

The Primate urged members of the Anglican Communion and the Christian community at large to pray for the newly elected bishops and their families as they prepare to assume leadership of their respective dioceses.

While emphasising the need for divine guidance and unity within the Church, Primate Ndukuba said “these new episcopal leaders are called to serve at a critical time in our nation and the Church”.
