Anambra farmers laud Remi Tinubu’s renewed hope agricultural programme

Over 200 farmers in Anambra, have lauded the First Lady of Nigeria and National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative, Senator Oluremi Tinubu over the strides and impact recorded by the initiative.

The farmers gave the commendation shortly after they were empowered with farm tools to boost their farm production by the RHI Agriculture Support Programme.

They noted that the programme will help support the nation’s farming populations and ensure food surplus.

They also noted that the initiative is a call for every Nigerian irrespective of status to return to the farm to ensure food security.

The farmers promised to continue to pray and support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government.

Performing the empowerment ceremony held at the governor’s lodge Amawbia-Awka, on Wednesday, Senator Oluremi Tinubu who was represented by wife of the State Governor, Mrs Nonye Soludo, disclosed that the programme which has also been held in other geopolitical zones in the country, aimed to promote agriculture development, create employment opportunities, and boost economic empowerment for the youths and women in Anambra State.

Mrs Soludo admonished the beneficiaries to take full advantage of the opportunity, using the knowledge and tools received to establish sustainable agriculture practices for their livelihood and the safety of the future generation.

She also commended Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her efforts in launching the initiative in Nigeria, to reduce challenges of youth employment and food security by creating opportunities for young people to engage in agriculture.

Earlier in his remark, the State Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Foster Ihejiofor, said that agriculture is not about feeding people alone but shaping the future of Nigeria stresses that as stakeholders are putting effort into curbing the challenges of food security, incessant intervention will be the key to unravel the challenges.

He expressed that the Ministry under his watch is fully ready to support the needed youth to flourish in agriculture noting that empowering young farmers with right knowledge, skill, and resources will cultivate the general growth of food security, poverty reduction, and economic viability.
