Ambassador Canon Otto FRSA made the call at the 2025 Global Sustainability Summit which he convened on Friday the 11th of April 2025 at the House of Lords Palace of Westminster, London.
to amplify the sustainability agenda amongst global leader who can influence policies at the national and sub national levels in different countries, and also so that heads of industries and leaders who have been exemplary can project and showcase their sustainability strides so it can inspire several others to follow suite and become more sustainable.
The Summit which brought together, sustainable development advocates and dignitaries such as the Governor of Ondo State Nigeria, Mr. Lucky Ayedatiwa, the First Lady Zamfara State Hajia Huriya Lawal, The First Lady of Kwara state Nigeria, and chairperson Nigerias Governors spouses forum, Ambassador Professor Okufolake Abdulrazaq, Prof Prashant Pillai MBE Vice-Chancellor, University of Wolverhampton, young sustainable development advocate Zahra Ahmed Ajetunmobi and members of the diplomatic corps.

Ambassadors Canon Otto while giving his opening speech said, “this isn’t just a passion. It’s my heartbeat. It is my soul crying out for a world where no one suffers from the carelessness of others… where food nourishes, not harms… where water heals, not kills… where progress doesn’t come at the cost of people or the planet.
“That’s why we created the Sustainability Summit. To fight for a future where peace is possible, where life is sacred, and where we don’t just survive, but we thrive, together.
“This is bigger than me. This is everything. And we all need to be aware and conscious so we can actualise this.”
