The Kano State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman, Shehu Sagagi, has warned the PDP national leadership against allowing Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso to decamp from the party, advising them to quickly reach out to him before it is too late.
He said this when hundreds of delegates from Kano and Jigawa State turned out to receive the Bukola Saraki Presidential Campaign on its visit to Kano.
He said Kwankwaso was offended during the party zonal chairmanship election when he was told that as a leader, all forms would be given to him and that only one person would be allowed to contest, but to his dismay forms were sold to some persons who have been even doing anti-party activities in Kano.
“And instead of the party to pacify him, they act as if nothing had happened. This made him reconsider his position in the party. If he is allowed to go that is the end of the party in Kano and most Northern states where he has supporters.”

During the visit, former Senate President and two-term Governor of Kwara State, Bukola Saraki, said that President Muhammadu Buhari’s seven years as president is a failure because of his abysmal performance in all ramifications.
According to him, when President Buhari came to power in 2015, his campaign promise was to solve the problem of power supply, tackle insecurity and the poor economy, but the situation has worsened today.
Making the assertion when his presidential campaign trail visited Kano, Senator Saraki said President Buhari failed to provide effective security of lives and property.
He said Nigerians cannot even travel a nearby town without being in fear and uncertain of what will happen to them, while across the country everywhere criminalities have taken their toll.
The former Senate President was represented by the Campaign Director, Bukola Saraki Presidential Campaign Directorate, Professor Iyorwuese Hagher, during the Kano/Jigawa States visit.
Hagher, who himself is a former federal minister and senator, alongside former governor Shaba Lafiyagi, and Dr Musa Ahmad, said they have surveyed the number of people who are contesting for the Presidency in 2023 and have critically looked at the abysmal performance of APC/President Muhammadu Buhari. They said they have agreed that only Bukola Saraki would salvage the inept government that would be out by 2023.
He said, “Senator Saraki will certainly take over the government, organise massive reforms, restructure the mentality of Nigerians and bring back justice. Justice has been compromised by the APC regime which does not respect the separation of powers, the judiciary and the legislative arms have all come under the control of the government.”
“Today Nigerians are crying and because of their cries, patriotic people are urging Senator Saraki to contest the 2023 presidency because they see him as the right candidate capable of wiping away tears of neglect and insecurity amongst Nigerians.”
Professor Hagher said that today “Nigeria is greatly divided along tribe and religious lines, that is why something urgently needs to be done to salvage it. It is confirmed and believable that APC and its presidency has failed. The PDP government under Bukola Saraki will be the saviour Nigerians are waiting for.
“The present government has failed the country. They promised all sorts of things, but today they have succeeded in plunging the nation to the brink of poverty and tremendous uncertainty.
Bukola Saraki who is just not corrupt would do the magic and wipe away our tears.”
Meanwhile, the PDP chairman of Jigawa State, Alhaji Babandi Abubakar, said that his chapter is one of the vibrant PDP chapters that has championed the course of good governance in Nigeria.
