Governor Dapo Abiodun
The Special Adviser on Political Matters to Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, Adebiyi Adeleye, on Tuesday, said he had been vindicated by the court of law over allegation of certificate forgery levelled against him.
He is the third member of the Abiodun-led administration alleged to be involved in certificate forgery.
Others include Professor Sidi Osho, a Commissioner-designate, and the governor’s Special Adviser on Education, Dr Joseph Odemuyiwa.
Adebiyi represented Remo North State Constituency in the 8th Assembly and was recently appointed as Special Adviser by Governor Dapo Abiodun.

In his reaction to an online publication accusing him of forgery, Adeleye said a Federal High Court sitting in Abeokuta had decided over the matter brought before it by Wasiu Gbadebo and Onamuyiwa Olumuyiwa on behalf of concerned members of Remo North State Constituency.
The court presided over by Justice Adamu Mohammed, in a ruling dismissed the Suit No: FHC/AB/CS/3/2017, on the 26th of May, 2017.
Justice Mohammed held that: “In the same vein, I consider that the Notice of Preliminary Objection dated 15th March, 2017 filed by the 2nd Defendant /Respondent have been taken over by event.
“Consequently, the Plaintiffs’ /Respondents’ Writ of Summons dated 19th January 2017 is hereby dismissed.”
The former lawmaker wondered why the case had to be “exhumed” after he had served as a local government chairman and as an Assembly member.
“I wonder why this is coming up now. After serving as local government chairman and there was no issue; serving as an Assemblyman. If as chairman you took me to court and as Assemblyman you took me to court, I won; how many jeopardies?
“I have heard of double jeopardy; I’ve not heard of triple jeopardy. You took me to police, the police vindicated me. You took me to court the first time, the court vindicated me,” he added.
