
GOVERNOR Umaru Tanko Al-makura of Nasarawa State has constituted a 9-man probe panel to investigate the administration of the former governor, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.
Al-makura revealed this in a public announcement that was signed by Secretary to the state Government Mohammed Hassan Abdulahi, and made available to TribuneOnline on Wednesday.
According to the announcement, “His Excellency, Umaru Tanko Al-makura, Governor of Nasarawa State has approved the setting up of a Committee to Review the Concessioning agreement of all the Nasarawa State Government Owned Hotels and Other Related Facilities.”
Adding that the investigation would not only be limited to Keffi Hotel alone but to also probe the Nasarawa Investment Property Company, Conference Hotel, Lafia (NIPC) as well as the Keffi club in Keffi LGA.
As contained in the announcement, “the Committee is also mandated to review and investigate the circumstances that led to the failure of the Farin Ruwa Independent Hydro-Power Plant Project, as well as the Zimbabwean Farmers Project and to advise Government on measures to mitigate the attendant problems and the likely costs required to ameliorate the situations.
“Furthermore, the Committee is to investigate the role of key players in Government who aided, colluded and/or abetted the defrauding of the State with other parties involved and recommend appropriate penalties/sanctions towards prosecution and recovery of Government funds from such actors.”

The Committee, however, comprises of the Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of finance and economic and planning, Hon. Ayuba Dogara Ayenajeh – Chairman, Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Commerce, Industry & Cooperative – Member, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation Department, Nasarawa State Command – Member and Assistant Director (Operations), Department of State Services, Nasarawa State Command – Member.
Others include: Barrister Mubarak Adekilekun, Ph.D – Member, Reverend Dominic ALANCHA – Member Solicitor-General/Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, Nasarawa State – Member, Executive Chairman, Nasarawa State Board of Internal Revenue Service – Member and Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Affairs and Special Services,Office of the Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State – Member/Secretary.
Meanwhile, it could be recalled that Senator representing Nasarawa west district, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu cautioned Governor Tanko Al-makura for sponsoring Commissioner Ministry of Education, Ahmed Tijani to struggle out the senatorial seat with him.
Adamu said, ” I Abdullahi Adamu the son of Aisha, I have never betrayed APC and I have never betrayed Al-makura, anybody who betrays me will leave to regret his life.”
However, the above-mentioned projects set to be probed are projects that were established by the Sen. Abdulahi Adamu when he was a Governor.
