Al-makura inaugurates 9 newly appointed commissioners, assign portfolios

NASARAWA state Governor Umaru Tanko Al-makura, has inaugurated 9 newly appointed commissioners with a charge on them to live above boards.

Speaking during the inauguration ceremony of the commissioners at the city hall, Shendam Road, in Lafia, the state capital, the governor urged the new appointees to be transparent and prudent in the discharge of their duties.

“You are to abide by your oath of office to be transparent, prudent and just to enable you contribute your own quota to the development of the state and the country at large.

“Your appointment is based on your track records and you should look inward in order to improve on the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the state in order to provide the much needed dividends of democracy to our people,” Al-makura said.

The governor, urged the new appointees to key into the state government’s vision to continue to provide infrastructural development as a way of fighting poverty, unemployment and improve the life of the masses.

Tribune Online reports that the 9 commissioners and their portfolios are; Zubair Tanko Abdullahi (Commerce), Abdulhamid Yakubu Kwara (Information, Tourism, Culture), Mohammed Wada Yahaya (Works), and Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Mary Enwongulu (Women Affairs).

Others are; Professor Jonathan Mamu Ayuba (Special Education Science and technology), Dr. Abdulkarim A. Kana (Water resources), Ayuba Dogara Ayenajeh (Finance), Bamaiyi Anangba (Youth and Sports), and Muhammad Jamil Zakari (Agriculture).
