Hon. Akin Alabi, Member of the House of Representatives for Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Works, has expressed his profound condolences to Governor Seyi Makinde on the sudden passing of his elder brother, Engr. Sunday Makinde, who died on Friday, 24 January 2025, at the age of 65.
In a statement released to the media by Hameed Mustapha Ramadan, his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Hon. Alabi conveyed his deep sympathies to Governor Makinde and the entire Makinde family, acknowledging the pain of losing a loved one.
“It is with great sadness that I received the news of the passing of Engr. Sunday Makinde. Losing an elder brother is a deeply painful experience, and my thoughts and prayers are with Governor Seyi Makinde, the Makinde family, and the people of Oyo State at this time of loss,” Hon. Alabi said.

He prayed for God’s comfort and strength for Governor Makinde and his family during this difficult time, asking that the soul of the departed rest in perfect peace.
