
Residents of jiddari near polo area of Maiduguri were Saturday evening moving out enmass in their hundreds as a result of heavy gunshots heard from the axis of incursion before the military went after them.
Most of the residents were seen trekking from, barracks road, Didari polo and adjoining areas towards government house area, post office and Lagos street which are the access roads to the city centre.

Hundreds of cars were seen coming from that polo axis equally emptying into Lagos street, towards nuj between 7 and 7.30pm Saturday evening.
Some residents told Tribune Online that the attack was coming from Bale Shuwari axis close to old GRA Maiduguri while others claim they were hearing heavy gunfire behind giwa barracks when the soldiers engaged the daring insurgents.
Government house sources told Tribune Online that heavy smoke was seen billowing out of the area of seige an hour after, even as the men of the Giwa Barracks went on a hot pursuit after the insurgents.
The military had not reacted to the development as at the time of writing this repor but we’re seen by residents while they went into the area of incursion.
Meanwhile, the theatre Commander of Operation lafia Dole Major General Abba Dikko has been redeployed in a new management shakeup which was issued by army headquarters Saturday evening.
