The national chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ralphs Okey Nwosu, has set a powerful tone for the party’s roadmap to the 2027 general elections.
Addressing party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters, Nwosu announced the ADC’s ambitious commitment: to mobilize 35 million voters nationwide.
“We want to use the ADC handshake to rescue the country and put it on the right trajectory,” the ADC chairman
Nwosu painted a clear picture of Nigeria’s current socio-economic challenges and the urgent need for transformative leadership.
“We have come too low; now, we must go up,” he declared, noting that those who have labored to sustain the party will not be left behind.
“Those of you who have sacrificed to get us where we are will not be put to shame; you will not regret it.”
With the ADC handshake, the party’s enduring symbol of unity and progress, as a rallying point, he emphasized that the time to act is now.
“In a land of plenty, all that is offered is breath. What about food and jobs? Enough is enough!
Youth as the Driving Force.”
Nwosu proudly revealed that the party’s national youth team has pledged to deliver 30 million votes, signalling a robust youth movement determined to reshape the political landscape.
“The best things that have ever happened to this country have come through the young people. This time, we are going into the field,” Nwosu asserted.
Nwosu announced that the party’s grassroots activation begins with Kogi State, describing it as “ready” and strategic in the ADC’s mobilization campaign. The state’s political structure, demographics, and youth energy present a unique opportunity for the party to pilot its full-scale national approach.
“We are ready, and we are starting with Kogi. Kogi is ready!” he affirmed.
While much of the speech energized youth participation, it also carried a thoughtful message to older Nigerians. The Chairman emphasized that national renewal requires intergenerational partnership and mutual accountability. His words aimed to unite, not divide, and to invite every citizen into a collective vision for national transformation.
The ADC’s strategy is not just a campaign but a movement for governance reform, driven by purpose, participation, and practical leadership.
A United Front Ahead of 2027
Nwosu’s message was clear: the ADC is not waiting for the future to happen. It is building it now, and it’s doing so with intention, strategy, and inclusion.
“For the first time, we will deliver a president who will win clearly and be welcomed with a warm handshake.”
The 2027 elections may still be two years away, but the ADC has already begun its journey, not just to win ballots but to win back the trust of the Nigerian people.
