IN less than 24 hours to the Presidential election, the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), on Thursday night, adopted the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate and his running mate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Mr Peter Obi, respectively for tomorrow’s election.
This was contained in a communique issued and signed by the South-West Zonal Chairman of the party, Otunba Tayo Onayemi after the NEC emergency meeting in Abuja.

According to the communique, the NEC of AD rose from its emergency meeting and adopted the candidature of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of PDP to be the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The submission, endorsement and adoption were based on his numerous experiences in governance, having served as a former Vice President for eight solid years. His promise to restructure Nigeria if elected and many others were parts of the reasons behind his endorsement by the party.
“While urging our numerous members and followers to still go ahead and vote for AD candidates for other elective offices like National Assembly, Governorship and State Houses of Assembly, the NEC, therefore, wishes to advise President Muhammadu Buhari, who had also tried his possible best to make Nigeria great, to take a well deserved rest and allow his younger and energetic brother, Atiku, to continue from where he would stop.” The communique stated.
