Thousands of All Progressives Congress card-carrying members trooped in Lagos State on Wednesday to urge Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), to run for the 2023 Presidency.

The supporters in their droves converged at Ilupeju in the Oshodi area of the state under the aegis of the Osinbajo Global Movement.

Members of the group from all the 20 local government areas of Lagos State were very well represented during the rally.

The supporters were seen with different banners emblazoned with the face and name of the VP as they chorused, “Osinbajo for 2023 President!”

Some of the inscriptions on the countless banners include ‘Alimosho Local Government for Osinbajo APC Presidential Ticket’, ‘Agege Local Government backs Osinbajo for President’, ‘Alimosho Local Government supports Osinbajo for Presidency’, amongst others.

The Director of Operations, Osinbajo Global Movement, Temi Okesanjo, said over 1,600 APC card-carrying members were at the rally on Wednesday.

She said, “We had 1645 APC card-carrying members at the rally today in Lagos. It was a massive success and no one has had this in Lagos. These thousands of Osinbajo loyalists came out to drum up support for the VP to run for the next presidential election because they believe in his leadership and justice system as expressed over the decades.

“Don’t forget that the VP was Justice Commissioner and Attorney General of Lagos State between 1999 and 2007 and we are testament to the many reforms he achieved during that period. Performance doesn’t lie. The VP has repeated the same excellence, even more, since 2015 as the second in command to the President.

“The best form of leadership experiences and we are convinced that Osinbajo being VP for eight years understands what Nigeria needs more than all other aspirants who are inexperienced.

Osinbajo Global Movement is a coalition of 37 support groups across the six geographical zones with sizable members of Nigerians in diaspora from the United Kingdom, North America, Asia, Europe, and other African countries.

OGM is a group dedicated to the promotion of the principles, virtues, and legacy of Osinbajo.

This group aims to attract supporters of Osinbajo across the world to join in the clamour for Osinbajo to become elected President of Nigeria in 2023.

Millions of Osinbajo supporters both at home and abroad have expressed unalloyed support for the VP to contest the 2023 presidential election though he had yet to formally make his intention known.

The supporters of the VP have said he possesses requisite leadership skills and everything Nigeria needs in a leader.

They also argued that the VP has the vigour, intellect, energy and versatility to lead Nigeria to Eldorado from May 2023, even as they said he is the fittest candidate from the Southern region of the country.
