THE Alliance National Party (ANP) has called for a new direction and generational shift of power in Nigeria.
According to the party, it is on record that the independence of our dear nation was attained in 1960 with actively and patriotic role of young citizens; the likes of Anthony Enaworo, Obafemi Awolowo, Ahmadu Bello, Tafawa Balewa, as well as Nnamdi Azikiwe and host of others fought the battle for our freedom without any ulterior motive or selfish gain.
Director General, ANP YSSG, Salahudeen Lukman, who stated this on the occasion of the party’s inauguration in Abuja, said the group was constituted to continue pursuing the enthronement of young visionary Nigerian as president come February 2019.
He said it was on record that Nigeria performed better as a nation and real giant of Africa during the reign of young people in power.

“It is also on record that Nigeria performed better as a nation and real giant of Africa during the reign of young people in power; the like of General Yakubu Gowon, General Olusegun Obasanjo, General Murtala Ramat and even General Muhammadu Buhari have more scorecards while ruling under military regime at a young age than their ruling at old age in democracy, hence to the need, rebuild our dear nation, the young citizen must be actively involved,” he added.
The director general said that “the fact that ANP has given one of our own, the person of Asiwaju Mashood Shittu, the party presidential ticket thus come our resolution to team up and collapse into this ANP YSSG to propagate the need for new direction and generational shift of power in Nigeria.”
