THE Ohaneze Ndigbo youths wing worldwide has congratulated the reelection of the Enugu State governor, Rt. Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for delivery on the wish of the people without been distracted by antics of political detractions in the build-up to the election.
The group also felicitate with the reelection of the governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, Ebonyi State, Engr David Umahi, Imo state Rt. Hon Emeka Ihedioha and the governor of Delta State, Senator Patrick Okowa, said the clarion call of their parent body, instructing Ndigbo home and abroad to come home and vote for candidates in line with the Igbo apex socio-cultural group demands were respected by the people.
The group equally commended the reelection and sterling performance of the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekwuremedu, in whom they said lies the greater hope for the Igbo nation in Nigeria’s project.
Communicating the congratulatory message in a statement made available to Tribune Online in Awka, state capital of Anambra, the National Leader of the Youths wing Worldwide, Dr Arthur Uchenna Obiorah disclosed that the Ohaneze Ndigbo youths worldwide felicitates with the Five governor-elects and urged them to fulfil their campaign promises by providing an appreciable percentage number of political appointment slots for the Igbo youths.
He said I want to congratulate the Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, our dealing Imo new governor-elect, Rt. Hon Emeka Ihedioha, the Governor of Abia state, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, Ebonyi State who is known as the new formation of a political icon, Engr David Umahi and the governor-elect of Delta state, Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Okowa’.

‘We the Apex Igbo socio-cultural group youths wing under the supervision of Ohaneze Ndigbo worldwide wants to identify with our illustrious leaders and commend our people for yielding to the earlier calls of our parent body, Ohaneze Ndigbo worldwide led by Dr Nnia Nwodo.
‘We appealed to our governor elects to give more political appointments to our youths, noting that the youths are the bedrock of meaningful development in any promising society’.
The group frowned at issues arising from the Rivers State Governorship Election, alleging that the Security Agencies who are meant to protect and preserve the nascent democracy in Nigeria has become an instrument to perpetuate undemocratic activities as against the constitutional provisions and electoral laws of the land.
The Ohaneze youths leader further appealed to the Military hierarchy to call their men and officers to order, requesting them to desist from what he described as shenanigans activities in collaboration with some disgruntled and greedy elements who have sworn to subvert the will of the People of Rivers State at polls, thereby dragging the integrity of the noble profession to the mud just to massage their ego and satisfy their insatiable selfish desires.
The group queried the identity, genuineness and sincerity of an individual who claims he wants to emancipate Rivers State, in particular, the Niger Delta region at large from the continued unabated intimidation and manoeuvring of the electoral process.
‘We use this medium to reaffirm our unwavering support and commitment in preserving and promoting peace and unity of Nigeria as we demand that INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in Rivers State and his Administrative Secretary should be allowed to exercise their duties and complete the process without threat to life and position, he advised.
