THE Social Democratic Party SDP, Anambra State chapter has adopted President Mohammadu Buhari for the second term in office to enable him to fulfil his 2023 Presidential promise to the Igbos and to complete several ongoing projects abandoned in the 16 years of the people Democratic Party PDP, administration in the region.

The State Chairman of the party, Dr Webster Okonkwo who disclosed this in a press Statement he made available to TRIBUNE ONLINE in Awka, the Anambra state Capital on Thursday, said Buhari’s emergence in the 2019 election would also help stabilise the country, adding that Buhari`s endorsement was something the party thought out very carefully.

The statement read” Against the backdrop of the resolutions of the 4th National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the Social Democratic Party(SDP) held on Thursday, February 7, 2019, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Anambra State wishes to re-state its total and undiluted confidence in the leadership of the party represented by the Acting National Chairman, Prof. Tunde Adeniran and the National Secretary, Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam which the resolve to adopt the candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC, President Buhari as the party preferred choice for Saturday election following the current leadership crisis rocking the party.

The state chapter of the party under my watch, therefore, aligns itself with NEC decision to endorse the candidature of President Muhammadu Buhari in the light of endless litigation engineered by fifth columnists within the ranks of the party.

We also condemn in totality, the actions of paid agents within the party who are intent on disparaging the party leadership with a view to disrupting party harmony and causing confusion. We advise the general public to disregard their antics while urging party members across the six geopolitical zones to work assiduously towards President Buhari victory on Saturday.

“To underscore this, the party felt that Buhari is the only person that can bring the total freedom Nigerians are yielding for through his corruption campaign crusade.

He urged Nigerians to look beyond the ordinary campaign gimmicks on the streets and drum support for the incumbent president.

This he added was necessary so that the ongoing projects in the south-east especially 2023 presidency would be achieved.
