LOYALISTS of Senator Solomon Adeola (a.k.a Yayi), a governorship hopeful in Ogun State, on Friday, joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2019 general elections.
They were led into the party by the former chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Alhaji Moruf Ajisegiri, at a ceremony attended by the governorship aspirant of the party, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, former state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Elder Joju Fadairo, the state chairman of ADC, Adeniyi Adebanjo, held at the NUJ secretariat, Abeokuta.
Ajisegiri explained the uncertainty surrounding the aspiration of Adeola, who is the current Senator representing Lagos West senatorial district was the rationale behind their decision to join the ADC.

He said that the determination and integrity of Isiaka was another reason why they are joining the party, describing ADC as a “moving train”, that will shape the political scene of the State.
The former council boss said the mass defection of the members of the Movement into the party which, according to him, signified 30 per cent victory for the party.
He added that the mass defection cut across all the six council areas in the senatorial district.
“This is an occasion where all political progressives, who believe in the interest of the common people, are coming together to ensure and guarantee the well being of Ogun State people and Nigerians at large.”
