This is just as a House of Representatives aspirant under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Amechi Mrakpor, on Thursday at the Asaba Cenotaph, venue of the House of Reps primaries, allegedly grabbed ballot boxes and threw away the contents during counting.
Emotion took a better part of the Member representing Oshimili Aniocha Federal Constituency when she discovered that she was already losing out after votes of the aspirants had been sorted out and counting had commenced.
Sporadic gunshot ensued from the police to disperse the riotous crowd which scampered for safety.

Consequently, Mrakpor’s aide was arrested by the security details for disrupting the primary.
In the PDP primary result eventually released, Ndidi Elumelu, a former member of Reps, who won, polled 260 votes, Amechi Mrakpor, scored 226 votes, and Peter Onwusaya, a former speaker polled 13 votes.
Meanwhile, the Delta State Police Commissioner, Mr Mustafa, denied the purported arrest of Amechi Mrakpor, but her aide.
However, as of press time, details of the deceased boy at the APC primary in Asaba could not be got.
