Seventeen Palestinians including seven children and an 11-month-old baby have been confirmed dead in an Israeli attack on a school-turned-shelter in Gaza’s Nuseirat camp.
The attack which was launched by the Israeli army in the early hours of Thursday also left 32 people injured.
Gaza’s Government Media Office says more than 770 Palestinians have been killed and 1,000 wounded as the Israeli military attack on Jabalia and the siege of northern Gaza enter their 20th day.
Reports have it that no fewer than 42,847 people have been killed in Gaza while 100,544 wounded in Israeli attacks since October 7, 2023.
On the other hand, about 1,139 people have also been reported dead in Isreal during the Hamas-led attacks and more than 200 have been taken captive.
The ongoing war is the fifth war of the Gaza–Israel conflict since 2008, and the most significant military engagement in the region since the Yom Kippur War in 1973.
