Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has urged Christians in the state to intensify prayers for peace and an end to insecurity in Nigeria as they mark the 2025 Christmas celebration.
In his Christmas message to the Christian community, the governor called on worshippers to use the special Christmas service to pray for national unity and security, describing insecurity as a major obstacle to Nigeria’s development.
He noted that although Sokoto State has historically been known for peace and harmony, parts of the state particularly the eastern axis have faced security challenges arising from banditry activities.
Governor Aliyu said his administration has, since assuming office, taken decisive steps to strengthen security operations across the state by providing critical support to security agencies.
