AS workers mark this year’s Workers Day, Mr Joshua Madaki, the Speaker, Plateau House of Assembly, has urged workers in the state to support Gov Simon Lalong’s efforts toward enthroning stability and progress.
Madaki’s advice is contained in a statement by his Director of Press, Mr Philip Atsen, a copy of which was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Wednesday in Jos.
The statement quoted Madaki as calling for more collaboration between the workers and the incumbent regime, noting that the workers and the government were partners in progress.

Madaki noted that the contributions of workers could not be relegated to the background, saying that they were crucial to the success of every policy enunciated by the leaders
“Workers in every society play key roles in making government succeed. Without an agile and committed workforce, no government will succeed.
“The governor has been up to date in the payment of salaries; workers must reciprocate that kind gesture through dedication and commitment to duties,” he said.
The Speaker commended the government for ensuring a smooth and cordial relationship with the workers in the state and urged it to sustain the tempo.
He also commended President Mohammadu Buhari for signing into law the National Minimum Wage bill, saying that it would boost efficiency and make workers more dedicated to their duties.
