The Country Director of New Faces New Voice-Nigeria (NFNV), Hajia Aishatu Aminu has said women empowerment is a catalyst for economic growth with social change and community resilience.
Speaking at a two-day training of NFNV, Oyo State branch at the State Secretariat, Ibadan, on Thursday, Aminu said the training was aimed, not only to impart knowledge but to facilitate an environment where women can thrive, connect and contribute to the digital economic fabric of the country.
She stated that NFNV is committed to creating a financially inclusive world and is on a journey to empower and uplift women entrepreneurs across Nigeria.
She said the training programme represents the convergence of shared values, dedication to digital economic empowerment and a collective vision for a more inclusive future.
Aminu disclosed that after the two-day training, it will still continue to run virtually for some months. Basic Business Curriculum/online workbook, Fintech/IT impact investing will undoubtedly enrich their discussions and guide beneficiaries towards innovative solutions that resonate with the unique challenges faced by women entrepreneurs in Nigeria in recent times.
“My team spearheads NFNV-Nigeria’s mission to amplify the voices and opportunities of women in entrepreneurship, and also to multiply the faces. My leadership and commitment have been instrumental in shaping the vision we have to realise today.
“We want to set high-level expectations for women to achieve their full potential as entrepreneurs and let us embrace the next two days with enthusiasm, dedication and a collective commitment to shaping a more digitally and financially inclusive, empowered Nigerian Women!”
Also, NFNV-Nigeria Oyo State representative and focal coordinator, Alhaja Adedoyin Tijani, said NFNV-Nigeria is a business support organisation which is an arm of Graca Machel Trust.
She said the organisation works across Nigeria to amplify the voices of women and youth and make them visible through economic empowerment, social development and leadership training programmes to scale in their enterprise.
“The objective of the organisation is to empower and enable women entrepreneurs in business and export to thrive, scale up and generate income and employment.”
In her remarks, Director of ICT, Management Information Centre, Secretariat, Ibadan, Mrs Abisola Adabanija, said the digital revolution is an unstoppable force that has dismantled barriers and birthed a new era of connectivity.
She noted that their consumers are no longer passive recipients but active participants in a digital ecosystem that demands engagement, responsiveness, and authenticity.
“Digital innovation is the competitive edge, the world where attention is the new currency, it has become our most potent asset. It is the key that unlocks creativity, fuels differentiation and sets us apart in a crowded marketplace. As entrepreneurs, our ability to innovate is not just a survival instinct but a strategic advantage.”
