Why we sponsor youths for intensive training at DASAC, Itu LG chairman says

NO fewer than 11 persons have been sponsored by the chairman of Itu Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Ubong Nkutt for enrolment in the one month intensive training in products manufacturing at the Dakkada Skills Acquisition Centre (DASAC).

The chairman said that the gesture was in line with his continued commitment to youth empowerment and grassroots development, adding that it also aligns with the directive of the state governor, Pastor Umo Eno to local government chairmen across the state to support youths participation in the programme as part of the ARISE human capital development strategy.

The programme, which is set to commence in a few days, focuses on equipping participants with practical skills in the manufacturing of a wide range of products in the agro-allied sector.

He said the comprehensive structure of the training aims to stimulate entrepreneurship and economic productivity across local communities.

Interacting with selected beneficiaries at the Itu Local Government Area secretariat, Nkutt congratulated them on their nomination by their ward leaders and urged them to approach the training with seriousness and discipline.

“This programme offers you a real opportunity to build a sustainable future through skills acquisition and you are not just representing your wards, you are carrying the hopes of Itu people, take the training seriously and make us proud,” the chairman advised.
