There may be several things that make veteran actress, Joke Silva, happy about her glorious career that has earned her numerous awards over the years but it seems her husband, Olu Jacob’s current health condition is not one of them.

With Jacob now over 80 and suffering from alleged dementia, his wife noted that the journey hasn’t been easy.

While speaking on the state of Jacob’s health and supporting him, Silva opened up for the first time about how hard it has become coping with the reality that her ailing husband, pointing out that he could not be there for her as he used to be.

She said this while speaking in an interview monitored by R; she recalled the early days of their marriage when she was blown away by Jacob’s love and affection.

Hear her “It hasn’t been easy. There was a point of acceptance for me that everything happening is reality and it is like the person I married, 80 percent of the time is no longer there.

“But the thing is this, when he was there, he was an incredible father to his children and an amazing husband, he was practically my best friend.

“The husband I knew is no longer there for me, but this man that is here is someone I still love.”
