A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Prince Oyebade Oyedepo, has said though a tasking experience, he ventured into writing to impart the skills and experience he had garnered in the accounting profession.
Speaking during the launch of two books, “Business Methods” and “Handbook on Contemporary Issues for Managers, Professionals and Students,” at the Premier Hotel, Ibadan, Oyo State recently, the chartered accountant said “writing connotes expertise and academic superiority in a particular field of specialisation,” adding that “the ability to document thoughts on paper or write a book as the case may be comes with special skills and traits.”
According to him, his sojourn into the writing world as a professional accountant was an herculean task, adding, however, that the adventure has been amazing and treasurable.
“I have been able to write two well researched books published by Evans Brothers (Nigeria Publishers) Limited in 2018.
The first book is titled ‘Business Methods,’ is to arouse the interest of readers in the act of doing business to profitability.
“The second book, ‘Handbook on Contemporary Issues for Managers, Professionals and Students,’ is to keep readers abreast of fundamental issues on the economy, finance and social matters. In addition, it is to guide the students on how to eschew social vices and imbibe good virtues.,” he said.
Oyebade qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1991, holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso and had served the public in different capacities some of which included c
hairman of Ibadan & District Society of ICAN and CITN; zonal chairman of ICAN Western Zone; member of ICAN National Governing Council and Member of Administrative Panel and Judicial Commission of Enquiry in Oyo State.
