Superstar Nigerian artiste, Wizkid, has opened up about his preference for solitude and family time over social gatherings.
In a recent interview monitored on Friday by R, the award-winning singer revealed that he’s not a fan of hanging out with large groups of people.
“I don’t like to hang out with so many people,” he said. “I just prefer to be at home with my son and just chill.”
Wizkid, known for his chart-topping hits and global fanbase, explained that people often misunderstand his private lifestyle.
Contrary to public perception, he is deeply family-oriented and prioritises spending time with his children.
The music icon, who is a father of four, said that his peace of mind comes from being with his loved ones and not from nightclubs or social scenes. “I enjoy the calm that comes with just being around my kids,” he added.
While many fans see him as a symbol of nightlife and pop culture, Wizkid insists that behind the fame, he lives a very normal and grounded life. “I’m just a regular guy who loves his space,” he said.
He also touched on the importance of maintaining a small circle, stating that he has learned to keep his personal life private and guarded. “Not everyone deserves access to your energy,” he noted.
Wizkid’s revelation comes as a surprise to some, especially given his public image as a superstar often surrounded by glitz and glamour. However, he emphasized that his home and family are his true safe haven.
“I’d rather stay indoors and be with my kids than be outside doing too much,” he explained. “That’s where my joy comes from.”
