NIGERIA’S vice-president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has promised that all issues surrounding low level of development in Aworiland of Ogun State, would be addressed in the next dispensation.
He said on Monday in continuation of the President Muhammadu Buhari /Osinbajo re-election campaign at Ado-Odo /Ota Local Government Area of the state, that the people of Aworiland have suffered neglect in times past.
Osinbajo while addressing the Olota of Ota, Oba (Prof) Adeyemi Obalanlege, the Olota-In-Council and prominent sons and daughters of Aworiland, bemoaned the deplorable state of roads in the area.
He noted that Ota and its environs as the major industrial hub in the Gateway State had been underdeveloped infrastructurally, promising that Buhari/Osinbajo led government would address problems confronting the people of Aworiland.
The VP said he knew about so many challenges confronting the Awori nation when he held sway as the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Lagos State, urging the people to vote massively for the State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Prince Dapo Abiodun, so that some of the issues raised could be attended to.
He explained that Abiodun if voted into power on March 2, will have unlimited access to the Office of the Vice President on some of the challenges that could not be addressed by the state government.

Osinbajo said: “You are all progressives and this trait ought to reflect in you. When I was Lagos State Attorney – General and Commissioner for Justice, all your problems became clear to me and which do not suppose to be.
“We are promising you, that we would look into all these problems when we have Dapo Abiodun, the Ogun State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, elected in the forthcoming March 2 election, and the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari/Prof Yemi Osinbajo on February 16.”
Abiodun in his remarks promised a new lease of life to the people of Aworiland if elected into office as the next governor of the state, assuring them that all the roads within the industrial hub of the state would receive adequate attention.
The Olota of Ota decried the level of marginalisation of Aworiland by past administrations politically and social development wise.
The monarch said Awori people have been merged with Yewa /Egba nations and called on the incoming administration to look into this.
Obalanlege said, “Aworiland is accommodating. And we are in both Lagos and Ogun states. We have been relegated and which should not be.
“We have massive votes in Aworiland and which ought to translate to political power but rather, we have been marginalised. We are neither Yewa nor Egba. We have been merged with Yewa and Egba traditional councils. Now, we are like the Biblical Israelites without a root. Please, help us to look into this issue.”
