THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Idanre/Ifedore Federal constituency of Ondo State, Hon Kayode Akinmade, on Wednesday lamented the bad state of roads in Idanre and its environs, with a promise to draw the attention of the state and the federal government to the plight of the agrarian communities.
Akinmade who stated this while on campaign tour of Omifun, Olowo Ofeariwo, Okolo and Aleepa in Idanre Local Government Area of the state, observed that the area was noted for its agricultural production, saying there is urgent need to attend to the roads leading to these communities.
He noted that the area has been neglected over the years by successive governments while farmers in the communities have lost most of their farm produce because of lack of good transportation to their farms.

He promised the people, who are mainly cocoa farmers, that he would spare no effort in ensuring that government at state and federal levels address the neglect of the area.
According to him, “at a time efforts are being made to improve the nation’s agricultural production every encouragement must be given to farmers in the area”.
He, however, commended them for their contributions to the nations cocoa output, noting that opening up the area would be mutually beneficial to them and the government.
