The national secretary of the Accord Party (AP), Honourable Abiola Adebukola Ajaja, on Sunday, in Ibadan, said the party is ready to welcome back the former governor of Oyo State, Senator Rasheed Ladoja into its fold.
Describing Ladoja as one of the strong factors, who brought AP into Oyo State from Abuja, before he parted ways with the political party in 2015, she said the party would gladly receive the erstwhile governor whenever he is ready.
Speaking during an interview with journalists, Ajaja explained that the party’s position was informed by information that Ladoja was romancing some people underground to find his way back to AP.
According to her, “Ladoja has been romancing some people underground that he wants to come back to Accord Party. If anyone wants to join the party, our door is widely opened. We are ready to take Senator Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja back, but he must follow the due process.
“I was one of the fans of the former Governor Ladoja. When I was a teacher, he did what touched me so much. He introduced 30 pupils per class and the children were doing wonderfully well. So, when I wanted to join politics, I went to him.
“When he was sent packing in Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), we went to Abuja together to bring Accord Party to Oyo State. Ladoja dumped Accord Party in 2015 for PDP and later crossed to ADC before going to ZLP,” Ajaja stated.
She, however, contended that both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have failed Nigerians in terms of good governance, saying Accord Party provides a better alternative for the citizenry ahead 2023 elections.
“The two major parties have failed Nigerians, Accord Party has everything it takes to fill the vacuum and turn the tide of things around for the better. Those that are in the so-called big parties are more than comfortable and careless about the masses.
We have so many technocrats, professionals and people in Accord Party who had made it on their own before joining politics in our party They are well-read and they are grassroots politicians that understand the plights of the people,” Ajaja remarked.
