Ahead of the forthcoming 2019 general elections, the Nigerian Police Force has declared it’s readiness for the polls in Sokoto State.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police, in charge of Research and Planning at the Force headquarters, DIG Aminchi Baraya, who is in the State on special assignment for the elections, stated this at the command headquarters.
DIG Aminchi, called on the officers and men of the command to maintain orderliness during elections and should not tolerate any shortcomings or anything that will undermine the success of the elections.
He called on those that are yet to receive their allowances to forward their account details. According to him: “The IGP has directed me to inform all officers yet to receive their service allowances should forward their account details through the account department with immediate effect.”
“I can assure you that your allowances are waiting for you. I urge you to be at alert on duty, don’t allow anyone to induce you not even with water.”
“I advised everyone of you to go along with all your needs, including the water you will drink at your respective duty post.”

Also speaking, the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Muhammad Mustapha also advised officers and men of the Police Force to conduct themselves in a professional way, reminding them that the whole world is watching.
He warned them that the management of the police force is not ready to take or tolerate any excuse during the elections which he called a national duty.
In his remarks, the Commissioner of Police, who was posted to the State mainly for the purpose of the elections, CP Kwaji Aminu, also charged his men to be professional in their discharge of duties.
He also advised Journalist in the State to play their role in maintaining a peaceful elections, reminded them to always verify their stories and hear fro the side of police before going to press.
He however assure that the Police under his command in the State will supervise a free, fair and credible elections in the state.
