The Oyo State Coordinator, Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe, has urged corps members to internalise and uphold all the ideals of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) which includes integrity, patriotism, humanity and selfless service as well as dedicate their service to adding value to humanity.
She made the call during the closing ceremony of the 2021 Batch B (Stream l) orientation course at Iseyin Camp, Oyo State, saying that such attributes will help them in the task of n which is a collective effort.
Ogbuogebe in her address enjoined the corps members to pursue excellence at all times, knowing that they would creditably account for their activities within the course of their one-year mandatory service to the fatherland.
“As good ambassadors of the scheme and your family, ensure that you do not get involved in activities that will truncate your bright future,” Ogbuogebe said.
To this effect, she encouraged the corps members to keep themselves occupied with the SAED program and improve on any of their chosen skills, advising them to not only master the skill but acquire more skills which at the end will assist them in job creation and income generation. She equally stated that the SAED initiative remains the right direction as white-collar jobs are no longer available.
The state coordinator while wishing the corps members a rewarding and fruitful service year, tasked them to leave legacies in the sands of time by embarking on CDS projects that will positively impact lives in their various host communities.
