In a momentous ceremony held recently at the Banquet Hall of the Airport Hotel, the United Nations POLAC Foundation announced the induction of the Managing Director/CEO of Lagos Computerised Vehicle Inspection Service (LACVIS), Prince Segun Obayendo, as one of its newest Peace Ambassador.
The appointment marks a significant milestone in the ongoing global efforts to promote peace, diplomacy and humanitarian causes.
Prince Obayendo, Group Managing Director/CEO of Temple Group Limited, the pioneer of the computerised vehicle inspection services in Nigeria, has long been committed to fostering harmony among nations and communities.
His dedication to humanitarian causes and his work in conflict resolution, especially his promotion of Nigerian languages through his Segun Obayendo Foundation, earned him the esteemed role.
The induction ceremony was attended by dignitaries, diplomats and prominent figures.
The event was graced by speeches from key figures within the United Nations POLAC Foundation, who stressed the importance of Prince Segun Obayendo’s role and other inductees in advancing the cause of peace on a global scale.
In his acceptance speech, Prince Obayendo expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve as a peace ambassador.
He said, “I am truly honoured to accept this role as a Peace Ambassador for the United Nations POLAC Foundation under the auspices of my foundation, Segun Obayendo Foundation.
“My foundation, Segun Obayendo Foundation, is heavily committed to the promotion of indigenous Nigerian languages to foster peace and security in the country.
“We have developed a catalogue of videos to promote basic understanding of these languages, especially Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba, which are easily available for download on our website.”
He further stated that the foundation is committed to the cause and looked forward to collaborating with organisations and individuals who share the same vision.
As a peace ambassador, Prince Obayendo will work closely with the United Nations POLAC Foundation to promote peace, conflict resolution and humanitarian efforts across the globe. His appointment reinforces the foundation’s commitment to building a more peaceful and harmonious world.
