Two nurses of Idon General Hospital in Kajuru local government area of Kaduna State, Afiniki Bako and Grace Nkut that were kidnapped have regained their freedom.Â
A family member of one of the abductees, told newsmen in an interview at the weekend that the duo were released on the Saturday 10th July, 2021 at 7pm after spending 80 days in captivity.
He said the two nurses were in good and sound health even though, he added they are to undergo a medical check up to determine their health status.
Recall, the nurses were kidnapped on April 22, 2021 while on night duty at Idon General Hospital.
According to another source who pleaded for anonymity revealed a ransom was paid to secure their released.
“A sum of N10.5 million, two Bajaj motorcycles, five mobile phones and airtime worth N6,000 was paid to the kidnappers as ransom to secure their freedom.
Also, their released was coming 48 hours when six students and two staff of Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria who were also abducted one month ago regained their freedom.
Thus, bringing the total of 10 victims to regain their freedom in recent times, while the 121 students abducted at Bethel Baptist school, damishi, Kaduna are still with their captors.
