Recording Academy voting member, Tito Da.Fire has released a remake of ‘Majekaja’, one of Nigeria’s popular Afro-fusion songs from 21 years ago. ‘Majekaja’, originally released in 2003 as a follow-up to ‘Seun Rere’, Tito Da.Fire’s first single along with partner, Mickey of the duo ‘Gent2Men’ spent numerous weeks at the top spot on numerous charts in 2003.
In Tito Da.Fire’s words, ‘Majekaja’ remains a love and unification theme, that’s propagates oneness devoid of fights”.
As Afrobeats and the various shades such as Afro-pop, Afro-fusion take centre stage globally, ‘Majekaja’ is a resounding theme of how far the journey has grown.
Uduak Jedidiah Peters, popularly known as Tito Da.Fire, is a Nigerian Afro-fusion singer, producer and song-writer and voting member of Grammy® Recording Academy who is charting his brand of Ganta-Music which blends Afrobeats, world music, Reggae, Pop and R and B fused with African percussions. He started performing at high school gigs and was earlier influenced by Pop, R and B reggae and Disco music played by his mother while growing up in Ganta.
Tito Da.Fire represented Nigeria on India Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s World Yoga Day June 2021 ‘Gratitude song’ which featured leading Indian stars and other international artistes. He followed up with ‘Kokoro’ in August 2021, while his 2019 sophomore album ‘One Kiss’ album featured Grammy award winners, Beenie Man and Wouter Kellerman, along with Nigerian music star, 9ice, while his debut solo ‘Graduation Day’ album featured rapper, MI and Harrysong.
