The Ondo state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ade Adetimehin, on Monday, defended and commended the economic reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the policies are already yielding tangible results and restoring confidence in the nation’s economy.

Adetimehin, who made the remarks while speaking with journalists in Akure, the state capital, described Tinubu as a leader divinely positioned for the current phase of Nigeria’s development.

The APC chairman said the reforms, though initially challenging, were necessary to reposition the country for long-term growth and stability.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu came at a very critical time in Nigeria’s history. When you examine the economic reforms he has introduced, you can clearly see the direction he is taking the country,” Adetimehin said.

He noted that the impact of the reforms is gradually becoming evident, particularly in the area of food prices and general market stability, which he described as key indicators of economic recovery.

Adetimehin said, “Look at what is happening in our markets today. Last year, a bag of rice was selling for almost N120,000. Today, you can go to the same market and buy a bag for about N51,000.

“The same trend applies to other food items. Gradually, prices are coming down, and Nigerians are beginning to feel the relief.”

Adetimehin emphasised that the improvements did not happen overnight, stressing that the President’s policies were carefully designed to address deep-rooted economic challenges.

“These reforms are not accidental. They are the result of deliberate, courageous, and well-planned decisions taken to correct years of economic imbalance. With time, the benefits will become even more visible to the average Nigerian,” he added.

He further expressed gratitude to God for the life and leadership of President Tinubu, praising his resilience and commitment to making Nigeria a better place to live.

“I thank God for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for granting him the wisdom and strength to work tirelessly for the progress of this nation,” Adetimehin said.

On the political front, the APC chairman assured party members and the general public that the APC in Ondo State remains united and focused, despite the heightened political activities and realignments ahead of future elections.

He noted that “APC in Ondo State is well united. We are not divided. The increasing number of people joining our party is a reflection of the confidence Nigerians have in our leadership and our policies.”

Adetimehin added that the party is committed to sustaining internal harmony while supporting the President’s vision for national development, economic recovery, and infrastructural growth.

Adetimehin called on Nigerians to remain patient and supportive of the administration, assuring them that the Tinubu-led government is determined to deliver lasting solutions to the country’s challenges.

The APC chairman’s remarks come amid rising political momentum within the party, as stakeholders and new members continue to align with the ruling party’s agenda across Ondo State and beyond.
