NIGERIA  is currently in a sensitive period in which the situations and events that are happening are disheartening and are causing pains on people to the extent that many have met their abrupt end due to the shock, emotions and depressed caused by the false information they saw.

Social media, which was developed for the benefit of all, has turn into weapon fashioned against humanity as many bloggers and online users have turned into journalists without certification, and are spreading lots of false and inaccurate information which are evoking emotions.

Recently, after Arsenal lose to PSG, an old video clip of an arsenal fan, who hanged himself to death, went in circulation, sparking reactions and stirring emotions among the general public as if it was a recent event.  Though the situation in the country is not palatable, but the way many online users are painting it makes it worse.

People need to rely on verified news and media outlets for information not the unverified blogs. Also people should stop spreading rumors and sharing fake news. The government should work with news agency to create a platform where all bloggers will be registered, as this will help to keep them in check.

Though the situation in the country is bad, it is our duty as general public not to make it worse by sharing information that are not true because one fake information can take the lives of many or even affect their health.

Let us stop spreading false information.
