The recent attack on Living Faith Church Worldwide at Osara community along Lokoja- Okene road in Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi state where three members of the said church were abducted by yet to be identified gunmen has accentuated the rising of insecurity in Nigeria.
The attack on Oyedepo’s church and other churches is a sign that insecurity has increasingly become a major threat to the existence of Nigeria as an entity.
Christians across the country, especially in the northern states are now afraid to go to the church. Invasion of churches by gunmen during church service is a proof that things have degenerated and if nothing is done quickly, we may lose everything.
The Federal Government should take urgent and prompt action to protect the lives of innocent christians who have the liberty to worship. Why will religious institutions be subjected to attacks when we all know that we need prayers at this critical time?
There is the need for President Muhammadu Buhari to demonstrate genuine commitment towards putting an end to insecurity challenges facing the country.
I hereby condemn the invasion of Bishop Oyedepo’s church in Kogi state and all other places of worship.
This is the right time for the president to show his military experience and background, he owes the nation an obligation to curb the rising insecurity that has ravaged the country.
Mosques and churches are places of honour and Muslims and Christians must enjoy peace to worship.
