All start-ups in Sub-Saharan Africa have been called to a battlefied where they will face one another in one of the greatest pitch sessions in history of African start-up.
“TechCrunch is bringing its experience with Startup Battlefield, one of the world’s premier startup competitions, to Sub-Saharan Africa to discover great early stage companies that have created technology to solve problems and develop the ecosystem within the region,” a written statement on TechCrunch’s website stated.
TechCrunch says it’s looking for the best early stage pre-launch startups to launch on our stage in Nairobi this October for a chance to win $25,000 and automatic participation in Startup Battlefield at TechCrunch Disrupt San Francisco 2018.
Applicants must be early-stage companies in “launch” stage and must be residents from our eligible countries. Also, those applying are required to have received limited press or publicity to date and very importantly, must not have any known intellectual property conflicts, among others.
Only startups who fit into one of three categories (social good, productivity and utility, gaming and entertainment) will be eligible participate.
Applications will close on July 14 at 5pm PST.
