The Alumni Association of Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ogun State, has pledged its collaboration with the newly appointed vice chancellor of the university, Professor Samuel Ekundayo Oladipo, promising to leverage the influence and support of its members to further advance the academic excellence of the university.

In a statement on Tuesday signed by its national president, Bolaji Oladeji, the association described the appointment of Professor Oladipo as TASUED’s sixth substantive and third indigenous vice chancellor as a significant milestone.

The alumni association commended Professor Oladipo’s record of dedication to service, describing the new TASUED henchman as “a man of innovation and proven commitment to advancing the university’s excellence.”

The statement reads further: “This appointment has come at a most auspicious time. The association has also carefully considered the expectations of its members, stakeholders, and the broader university community, concluding that this transition presents an opportunity for strategic collaboration through purposeful leadership to further the university’s development.

“The association offers the assurance of its continued support as a strategic stakeholder and partner in this collective pursuit of building a university grounded in academic excellence, strong pedigree, community service, staff welfare, and infrastructural development.

“Once again, we extend our warmest congratulations to Professor Oladipo on his well-deserved appointment as the sixth substantive vice chancellor of TASUED even as he formally resumes office today with the determination to further take our dear university to higher height.”

The new VC’s five-year appointment, which was announced by the university’s governing council on April 21, 2026, reportedly followed an intensive four-month selection process.

Prior to his appointment, Professor Oladipo had served as Director of Research and External Relations, Dean of the College of Specialised and Professional Education (COSPED), Deputy Director and later, Director of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance in the University.

According to the association, Professor Oladipo’s track record in these roles underscores his dedication, administrative competence and passion for advancing excellence within the institution.

It expressed optimism that his leadership would open new opportunities for strategic collaboration among stakeholders aimed at strengthening the university’s growth and development.
