THE Anglican Bishop of Awka Diocese, Right Reverend Alexander Ibezim says only prayers can salvage Nigeria from its present condition and its political challenges, as the next year general elections approaches.
Bishop Ibezim disclosed this to newsmen during a special Eucharist Service for the fifty-eighth Independence Anniversary of Nigeria at the Cathedral Church of Saint Faith, Awka.
Delivering a sermon during the service, Bishop Ibezim added that the country has not fared better in the past fifty-eight years, as poverty, corruption, insecurity and religious intolerance have bedevilled the country’s growth over the years.
